Richland Soccer Gets It's First W - By Isaac Morrison

    In a thrilling match-up between the Richland Bombers and the Hanford Falcons, the Bombers emerged victorious with a 2-1 win. The game was marked by intense action and fierce competition, with both teams giving it their all on the field. In the end, Richland’s Owen Jackson and Braylon Norris scored the winning goals, while Hanford’s Justin Hahn scored one goal for the Hanford Falcons.

    The game started with much energy, with both teams making very strong plays early. Richland, with the game's first goal made by junior captain Owen Jackson. The game remained 1-0 for a while, with both teams pushing hard to gain the advantage, and it wasn’t until senior captain Braylon Norris scored the second goal for Richland that the Bombers took the 2-0 lead. Hanford fought hard to turn the game around, with Justin Hahn scoring a goal to make it 2-1 for Richland, but Richland’s defense held strong and prevented any further goals.

    After the game, the other senior captain Lucas Wakeley expressed his pride in his team’s performance. “It feels great to beat our rivals on our home field,” Wakeley said. “I am super proud of our team for their hard work and determination. All our hard work is paying off”.

    The win was especially sweet for Richland, as they had suffered a tough start to the season. However, the Bombers returned strong this time and showed their opponents what they were made of. With the win, Richland moves up in the standings and sets itself up for a good run in the season. However, it’s important to remember that anything can happen on the field. Both teams gave it their all and put up a tough fight, and it’s clear that Hanford has some talented players on their roster as well. 

    Overall, it was an exciting game showcasing both teams' skill and determination. Richland’s victory was hard-earned, and they should be proud of their efforts. On the other hand, Hanford can take away some valuable lessons from the game and use them to improve their performance in future matchups. It’s always tough to lose, but it’s important to remember that every game is an opportunity to learn and grow.

    Richland’s next game is a home game against Hermiston at the Bomber soccer field. Despite the rough start to the season, the Richland Bombers have a bright future ahead of them, and we are definitely going to be expecting some big things toward the end of the season with this young team.
